Daugherty Public Library

Dear Friends,
Our library needs your help.

Do to recent reductions in revenues from property taxes, the library has much less money coming in that it has in the past. We have also seen a complete loss of supplemental grants from the state of Illinois we have relied on each year.

This presents grave problems as we strive to provide the same level of products and services to the community we have throughout the last 30 -plus years.

We have made cuts in every area we possibly can and to put it bluntly, we are at critical mass.

If we do not receive financial help, we are looking at cuts in services, and our hours of operation.

The library belongs to the community and with its supports, residents may soon lose this beloved resource that is at most times taken for granted.

If financial trends continue as they have the past few years, the library will be forced to close its doors within five years.
