Hi and thanks for taking the time for reading.
A Group of us 'Crazy people' have decided to 'get on our bikes' and Cycle from Dublin to Doolin (about 275kms) to raise money for this foundation and through this foundation, help fund many cancer support / research services.
Marie, whose family founded the Charity, ‘Marie’s Foundation’ in her name, passed away from Ovarian Cancer in May 2014, at just 39 years of age. Marie’s husband James, brother in law Mark and friend Jimmy came up with the idea of the Doolin Harley Fest to help raise awareness for ovarian cancer and also to raise funds for local cancer charities.Followed by many other events.
In 2017 ,Marie mc-donagh Clancy Foundation raised a phenomenal €33,869.00 in aid of the foundation. Marie’s Foundation has shared these funds with cancer charities at both a local and national level.
Funds raised from this Cycle event will go to the foundation to be distributed to various Cancer Charities and services. These charities are the real heroes, with boots on the ground services and help , but like everything they need funding.
We are all touched by Cancer in some way and we know the advances in treatment and support services all need funding.
Please , please donate whatever you can . €1---€500 , it all will be appreciated. This is all about the Charity and if everyone reading this could even donate €5 , I have no doubt we can reach our target , but the target is not important , even if we only raise €1. They do not have that €1 at the moment.
The Cycle will be the May bank Holiday weekend 3rd - 5th and will be about 275-300 Kms. , so I am fairly sure some Butt massage services will be need in Doolin when we arrive :-)
We understand that €5,000 is a large target , but it is €500 per Cyclist , so we hope achievable.
Whatever you can donate will be very much appreciated by everyone involved.
