Dreams Come True In Haiti

Donation protected
Anyone that knows me knows that for many years I have had a deep appreciation for Caribbean culture and dance. I first began my study of Haitian dance as a young man back in the nineties, in San Francisco. There I took classes and participated in SF Carnival with many different groups, Brazilian and Cuban groups. But my first love was Haitian! I dance with the world renowned Blanche Brown, artistic director and choreographer of afro-Haitian dance troupe Petit La Criox. Those formative years spent dancing Haitian rhythms greatly influenced the man I am now. When I first heard of the amazing work that the Heart Of Hollywood Foundation did in Haiti (as well as many other ventures) I could not help but be impressed. In addition, the seed was planted, lol. I KNEW I would go some day. Unbeknownst to me the day is fast arriving, but it all seems to be falling into place. Haitian culture has richly given to me over the years, I know of no better way to give back then to participate in this great project. So giving to my cause would be so much appreciated, this is really a labor of love.

Would you please sponsor me?Our trip cost, including airfare, housing, food and site building materials for the week is approximately $3,230 per volunteer, $16,150 for a team of five. We will be utilizing $7,500 for building materials and to employ local Haitian laborers. Our fundraising dollars will also employ Haitian interpreters, drivers and guest house staff/cooks, meaning a portion of our fundraising will have a direct impact on the Haitian economy! 100% of your donation will be managed by our team. We do not take anything out for administrative costs. Your money goes where it is intended and will allow us to continue to make a positive change in Haiti.

Since the earthquake of 2010, we have worked with our partner organizations who have donated millions of dollars to recovery efforts in Haiti. Our funds continue to be directed towards education, health and wellness, reconstruction, sustainable food agriculture, fresh water and many forms of direct assistance to support those in need. We have donated to and sponsored children at Wings of Hope – a home for mentally and physically challenged children and young adults. We have worked building vital community structures in the towns of Mellier, Leveque, and Yvon. This will be our 3rd year returning to the remote village of Sobier where we have been working on a health clinic. Our hope is that it will be completed by the spring of 2017 so that we can focus our efforts in Sobier to a much needed well, clean water initiatives and agriculture and livestock assistance.
