Hello, My name is Haziel Andrade-Ayala and I recently graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington,Virginia.
At Washington-Lee, I worked diligently to maintain a strong academic standing, took AP and IB classes, and graduated with a 3.6 GPA. I was on the Crew and Gymnastics teams. I won several regattas on behalf of the Virginia Scholastic Rowers Association and competed in different meets for gymnastics. In my free time I volunteered around the Arlington Community by being part of National Honor Society, Latin American Student Association, Do Something Club and the Dream Project Mentoring Program.
Recently my family celebrated my High School graduation and my older sister Hareth’s College graduation. Like her, I wish to make my family and community proud. I’ve earned a summer job at Arlington Public Schools, but it has been difficult for me to secure enough funds to cover tuition and housing for my first semester at Virginia Commonwealth University.
