Richard N. Ash, M.D. Memorial Fund

Donation protected

Dr. Richard Ash devoted his life to working with individuals who had been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and were tired of being sick. Through his practice at The Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine and his radio show SICK & TIRED of being SICK & TIRED (which aired on WOR and WABC for over 20 years) he helped over 25,000 people find relief from chronic illness.

Millions of people, including so many of our very own loved ones, continue to exhaust their time, money, energy, and ultimately sacrifice their health and well-being without getting real results. Alternative therapies and treatments exist which could have reduced pain, prevented suffering, or saved their life. These options are all too often overlooked, ignored, or simply aren't understood by traditional medical practitioners and hospital systems.

My uncle's tragic and unexpected death on December 25, 2015 is a wake-up call to both the medical community and to all of us who are subject to its bureaucracy and limited understanding of alternative medicine. It is imperative that Dr. Ash's philosophy and approach to integrative medicine become the standard for patient care, and so it is now more urgent than ever that we continue to do everything we can to ensure that options are available for people who are sick and tired.

WE ARE SICK AND TIRED of hearing "Sorry, we can't do that", "We don't do that", "We don't have that", "We can't get that", "Our hands are tied", "I've never heard of that"... or any of the other excuses.

We must do something about it.

We've established this fund in Dr. Richard Ash's name and memory to continue Doc's important work: the quest to understand and treat the root causes of illness rather than medicating the symptoms. We pledge to use these funds to:

- support the advancement of comprehensive medicine
- protect patient rights
- support ethical patient care
- improve health care and hospital systems
- educate physicians, practitioners, patients, families

All monies donated here will go directly to a new 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable foundation in memory of my uncle, Richard N. Ash, M.D.  which we are working to establish within the next few weeks. Once the foundation is in place, we will update this page with additional information.

Thank you so much for all of your kindness, generosity, and financial support.

With love and gratitude,

Richard N. Ash, M.D. was an internal medicine specialist who was a leader and pioneer in the field of environmental medicine. Once a victim of his toxic environment, Dr. Ash realized there were no current methods of treatment that could effectively deal with the toxicity in his body that was causing illness and fatigue. A graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania and having done personal research in alternative therapies, Dr. Ash developed a program that achieves dramatic, lasting improvement for patients who have not found relief from conventional methods. Dr. Ash's philosophy is based on treating the body as a whole. He believed traditional medicine has failed because it concentrates on treating a patient's symptoms rather than treating the cause of the problem.

Dr. Ash founded The Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine in New York City www.ashcenter.com, and WellNEST, a center for healthy living in the Hamptons and in Connecticut. Dr. Ash was an author, lectured nationally, and made numerous radio and television appearances including ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, The Sunday Times UK, DuJour, Hamptons Magazine, Gotham Magazine & Martha Stewart’s Whole Living.
