Heather Baker's Medical Fund

My name is Abbey Whetzel, and I'm from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Heather Baker has been a dear friend of mine for 16 years. She's an enormously generous mother who is well-known in our community for her help when others are in need: now she needs our help!

While on a missions trip to Guatemala in November of 2015, Heather contracted Zika. It took weeks to get an official diagnosis, but the virus was confirmed by the CDC. She began a journey to find answers, but no doctor or specialist had answers for her. The symptoms became chronic and Heather has been dealing with joint pain, fatigue and memory fog since that time.

This spring, Heather reached out to a doctor in Winchester who works with chronic pain. During her initial consult, she tested positive for several viruses that have been lying dormant in her body for decades, and Lyme was also confirmed. Simply put, the Zika virus "woke up" a host of other things. Since that time, Heather has been on a strict diet, a modified version of the Autoimmune protocol. She travels to Winchester almost weekly for treatments. Last month, she also experienced complications due to kidney stones. Thankfully, her med share is covering most of these bills, but there are some things that are not covered. Thank you for your consideration as she continues on her journey to healing and wholeness.
