Disclosure: for confidentiality purposes specific details may be brief.

Who: I am Victoria Adams. I am currently completing my final year at Simmons College obtaining my Masters in Social Work. I serve at a Boston non-profit hospital as a social work intern.  The Don’t Forget About Me Project is being initiated to assist a specific adolescent population who have been diagnosed with a chronic and life altering diagnosis. In addition to coping with these diagnoses, many of these adolescents lack social emotional support (i.e. deceased parents, DCF custody, lack of community groups) and struggle with having their every day needs met (i.e. housing, food, clothing.)

What: As the leaves change color and the New England Winter is upon us so are the holidays. The Don’t Forget About Me Project is seeking donations for these particular adolescents. These donations will go directly to these young individuals. Donations can be, but are not limited to; winter clothing (i.e. coats, gloves, hats,) gift cards, electronics, etc. You may also donate money that will be used to purchase items that are needed/desired for a specific adolescent. Fiscal donations will be handled by myself or direct supervisors to purchase tangible gifts.

Where: Donations can be made in THREE ways; Online, Mail, or Drop off. See the directions below.

Online: If you would like to make a fiscal donation please visit make via gofundme.

Mail: You can mail your donations that you have purchased in person or that you have purchased through online stores. Please mail these tangible gifts to

Drop Off:  If you would like to make arrangements for drop off or have any questions please contact me directly via messages or on The Don’t Forget About Me Project’s facebook page.

When: Donations will be accepted NOW until December 16, 2016.

Why: Although this hospital works with different organizations to obtain holidays gifts for patients, it is most often gifts for babies and children. This project is intended to help these adolescents not feel left out or “forgotten” during the holiday season.
