Derrick Ciok's Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hello,
We are fundraising to help a very special man live and we hope you can help!
We are a family of six - Joanna (45), Derrick - (48 - my husband), and the kids - Isabel (23), Simon (22), Adam (9) and Peter (7) ... and two dogs :-)
Four months ago our life was completely different. It was almost the end of the school year, we had plans for the summer holidays, etc.
But...
On June 17, 2016 my dear husband Derrick was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer (4th stage glioblastoma). It was completely unexpected as he did not have any headaches, no nausea nor vomiting. Nothing that would give us any hints that there was something wrong going on. We were shocked and heartbroken.
He had a surgery and the surgeons removed as much of the tumor as possible. Unfortunately, his doctors did not give much hope for survival.
Today, more than four months after the surgery, Derrick is doing well, undergoing radiation but not chemotherapy (his liver enzymes are to high). We still have hope and faith for his long term survival.
Unfortunately we cannot afford any available treatment on our own. That is why we are asking for help.
If you can please help us. Help us fight for a wonderful man, loving husband and father. Help us fight for some more time to spend together as a family.
We appreciate any and all help.
Thank you ... from the bottoms of our hearts.
Joanna, Derrick, Adam, Peter, Simon and Isabel Ciok
