Dentistry in Nicaragua

In February 2017 I, and a small group of people in joint efforts with the Hearts Hands & Smiles Foundation, went to Nicaragua to provide free necessary dental care to those in need. The people of Nicaragua were so grateful and appreciative of our work. We were able to develop a number of relationships with wonderful people - healthcare workers and selfless citizens alike - allowing us the opportunity to return in early 2018.
We plan to go for 10 days and service different villages throughout the Country. We see both children and adults and are so happy to provide them with cleanings, extractions of infected teeth, and restorations of decayed teeth. Seeing their smiles after having their work completed is the best part of each day, the whole trip, and honestly the entire following year.
The hardest part of last year's trip was leaving and feeling that the connections you made with these individuals and families, the comfort you provided for them and the joy they provided for you would be lost in the years to come. That's why returning this year is so exciting - I hope we are able to care for hundreds of new people, but I am really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces again as well.
I am reaching out to the GoFundMe community as the costs of the trip add up - airfare and living costs for 10 days, along with missing 7 days of work. Our goal is to provide as many people as possible with the best care we can offer, meaning we work long days and at a fast pace. I am SO happy and honored to give my time and energy to these people and am hopeful that you would be happy to help me do so.
