My name is Christopher. I am the brother-in-law of Dougie, brother to Lisa, his loving wife, and uncle to their three children- Alyssa, Katie and Amanda. Yesterday, Dougie was hit by a car while riding his bicycle near his home. He suffered major head trauma among other serious injuries. There was nothing to be done to save him, and he passed away this afternoon.
Dougie is a dad to three beautiful girls and married to his wife, Lisa, for 20 years. Dougie lived his life enjoying every day. He was outgoing, funny, outspoken, and would do anything for someone who needed a hand. He enjoyed working on his cars, riding his bike, spending time with his family and playing with his dog, Louie.
Even in his last hours, Dougie managed to give back to people. He chose to do the most selfless thing for others, which was to be an organ donor. Dougie's tragic death will help others live on, and his spirit and life will continue on in others.
Since his death was so untimely, it has left his family in an unexpected financial situation. This GoFundMe page was set up to unburden my sister from financial worries, since she is dealing with the grief of losing her husband and father to her children.
