Dead Tree Stewardship

Donation protected
At Earth Abides, our Land Trust's mission is to use the land for charitable purposes; we are to share this land with others. We are here as Catholic Workers to protect the health of the land. We are faced with a terrible makeover of the land , and want to specifically prevent horrible forest fires. A concerted effort is needed among friends, neighbors and agencies with resources to protect the bioregion from the ravages of global climate change, including pestilence. Riding the tide of tree mortality  in the Sierra Nevadas, we need to keep the land at the Catholic Worker Farm safe for visitors and residents, and therefore we must remove the trees killed by pests. We need money to service our existing chainsaws, buy supplies, rent other equipment for the felling and removal of dead trees you see in our photos. We also need money to keep our regular programs running, which include organic farming and HIV+ retreats. We always need funding and rely on the public for 77% of our budget. Please help our 40-year old Catholic Worker project continue to share the land safely, to pay the regular bills, and to fend off nuclearism  in the USA.
