Gem County Recovery Center

The Gem County Recovery Center (GCRC) is a peer-to-peer center for those seeking recovery. We work on behalf of all those impacted by recovery (including family members, friends, and allies) through service, education, and advocacy, to remove the stigma and discrimination surrounding addiction and mental illness.
Gem County is one of the many areas where addiction has been prevalent. It has cost the lives of many, and many do not have the finances to go seek the necessary treatment options needed to beat this disease. Our services will be free to everyone, we will offer classes such as NA, AA, Al anon, Smoking cesation, family classes,etc. We will also have an area for members of the community to come in and work on finding jobs, writting resumes, and just to be around others. The sky is the limit here, if there is a need we will work on finding a way to fill it!
The county has allowed us to rent one of its buildings, however, the building is in much need of repair. As we are a non-profit center, we rely strictly on donations and volunteers, both of which have been limited in our small community. We have to make our building ADA compliant before we can open our doors.
With the money raised through this campaign, we will purchase the building supplies needed. Any left over will go towards paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) and after that we will pruchase items to make soup tht we will invite our community in for once a week.
Achieving this goal would mean so much to not only us, but ultimately the entire community as we will not just be helping those in recovery, but we would be helping an entire community.
