Darcie's NSO summer music fund

I am 16 years old and in year 12 as a specialist Trumpet player at Wells Cathedral School in Somerset in England. I have been playing the trumpet for 8 years now and I am hoping to persue a career in trumpet when I leave Wells.

Now onto why I have created this page. I am thrilled to say I have been succesful in gaining a place on the National Symphony Orchestra's summer music institute in Washington D.C and although I got a full scholarship to cover most of the costs while I am there, this does not include travel. As you can imagine, the price of getting from the UK to Washington is very high, which is why I need your help! This could be a lifechanging experience for me, and the course involves spending a month in the capital of America working with other young musicians (aged 15-20) and members of the NSO including individually taught lessons, masterclasses and seminars, sit in rehearsals with the NSO itself and 2 concerts at the Kennedy Centre.
