Danny's Daughter

Danny’s daughter is Kaycie Hamer, a sweet little girl starting Kindergarten this fall. This is her first Father’s Day without her Daddy. The only child of a single parent who had a heart of gold. Danny instantly fell in love with his baby girl and from then on, Kaycie was his world. They shared a home with Danny’s parents Mike and Anita Hamer. Kaycie was only a year old when her grandfather Mike suffered a devastating spinal stroke causing him to become a quadriplegic. After monies ran out, Mike had to be taken care of at home and Danny immediately stepped forward to become his full-time caregiver. The family tile business that Mike & Danny shared was suddenly inoperable. Danny selflessly, 24/7 attended to both his father & his daughter. He was amazing at both caregiving and parenting. After a year, Mike sadly passed away. Kaycie lost the only grandfather she knew. On Monday, June 10, 2019, Kaycie lost the only parent she knew. Kaycie’s daddy, Danny, fell asleep and didn’t wake up. At 5 years old this innocent little girl has had more traumatic events in her life than most people have in a lifetime. Her daddy passed away at 37 years old. Danny was Kaycie’s world. She painted his toes, he tried and mastered braiding her hair. Danny did everything a parent, male or female, does with a child and loved every minute of it. Kaycie’s story is heart breaking and her future will be challenging to say the least. Ever since Mike passed away Danny was working to revive the family tile business but it wasn’t easy. We are praying that the generosity of family and friends will provide funds to help her get through the difficult days ahead. Funds raised will allow her grandmother Anita to support Kaycie with counseling, medical needs and the daily costs involved with raising a 5-year-old. Please help us honor a young man with such a big heart and smile to match who wanted nothing more than for his daughter Kaycie to love and be loved.
