Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre

Donation protected
On Sunday June 2nd, my sister and I will be back again to take part in the VHI Women's Mini Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre.

What does the charity do?
The centre provides a safe environment for all survivors of sexual abuse as well as offering support to their families, friends and partners. They offer a wide range of services which include counselling, helplines, advocacy and assistance with legal and medical processes.

I was first introduced to the work of the centre through the KAS (Knowledge, Awareness, Safety) Secondary School Education Programme. The Centre visits secondary schools to raise students’ awareness of rape, sexual violence and sexual harassment using interactive workshops and personal development exercises. Although very challenging to be a part of, it  opens up a conversation to on-going issues today.

Why should you donate?
All services at the Centre are provided free of charge so all donations will make a huge difference! For those who would prefer to donate offline I also have sponsorship cards!

Contact Information: If you would like to get in touch with the Centre please visit http://www.carlowrapecrisis.ie/  or phone [phone redacted].
