Tim Allen's Cancer Treatment Fund

I am a 58 yo male in Seattle who has been diagnosed with gall bladder cancer. It is considered rather rare and my doctor says there is not enough research on it yet to be able to say what the proper treatment should be. I think I will be somewhat of a guinea pig here. I am unsure how much my insurance will cover but I will be starting the process 12/8/15 down the path to chemo and possibly radiation treatments and I am quite certain the costs are going to be astronomical. As of 12/26 I already have over $2700 in bills. Without being able to work, I will be needing rent, utilities, food and incidentals paid for as well as the probably 20% that my insurance likely won't cover. I will be needing cash quite soon as my treatments will be starting quite soon. Neither my mother, who is on a fixed income, nor my little brother and his family, can help out much as they are cash strapped as well.

I've never asked for much before. I am really quite blessed, in fact. At 4 months of age, I was in a car accident that split my infant skull from ear to ear in a jagged line and I ended up with epileptic seizures for 41 years. Dec. 31, 1998, I wen t under the proverbial "knife" and as of 12/31/2015 I will celebrate being seizure free 17 years.

The fact remains that in 1957, (it was a '57 Chevy I was riding in,) everything in vehicles was metal. Dashboard. steering wheel. et al. And seatbelts were "optional". The fact I am here I give credit to my late father who "instisted" on seatbelts in the car.

Who knows? I very well could have been 6 feet under before I was 6 months old. I feel extremely lucky for that and the fact that I even made it to the half century mark then made it 8 and a half years beyond............

Needless to say, I take nothing for granted anymore and take one day at a time.

I know I'm on borrowed time on this planet and would be eternally grateful to be able to live to a ripe old age.
