In September I will volunteer in Ecuador with the nonprofit organization, Global Citizen Year. I will be working at a hospital and living with a host family. My goal is to engage and serve people in need of healthcare and assistance. I am excited to assist this humanitarian outreach program while representing Americans and immersing myself in a foreign culture for almost a year.
Part of my service is raising funds to help support my host family and to expand this service for more volunteers and more places where people need the help. I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider donating whatever you could.
This summer I will be concentrating on improving my skills with the Ecuadorian Spanish dialect, raising funds for my host family and program, continuing my work as a lifeguard at West Point, and beginning my work as a member of a clinical trial study team for concussion research. I will leave New York in September and meet up with the other Ecuador-bound volunteers before traveling to the country where I will be serving on my own.
The link below goes to a day in the life of a bridge year fellow. I will be experiencing very similar activities to this. I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to serve and learn. Please don't hesitate to reach out to discuss this opportunity - I look forward to sharing my story of the work and the people of Ecuador! Thank you!!!
