Our son, Clark, was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia. 1 in 150,000 kids are diaganosed with this condition. Due to this Clark had major abdominal surgery called the Kasai procedure. The went in and detached where his stomach and intestine meet and attached it directly to the liver and reattched the stomach to a different part of his intestine. He is now in recovery, but there is only 1 in 3 chance that the procedure actually worked which could result in a liver transplant. We will have to go to the liver clinic every month that have labs drawn to see how he is doing. We aren't asking for much, just every little thing helps. Thank you everyone for your love and support.
