Cycling for the Oceans with Karoy

Will we be able to push through the 3 days?
Are we going to faint under the scorching sun halfway through?
Is it going to be soaking wet and with constant headwind?
So many unknowns! 1 thing is for sure though: what we do, we do it for sustaining a liveable planet for all of us!
The Goal
330 miles, 6 cyclists, 3 days, 2 cities, 1 goal: Sustain and grow our beautiful Oceans now and for future generations.
Why?
Our living Oceans are overfished and polluted. We need them for our most precious resources on earth: Oxygen. If the Oceans die, we will feel the impact of increasing temperatures, extreme weather, and pollution that already affects our health today.
How can you help?
Solutions are not far fetched: putting an end on overfishing and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, would all help to stop the depletion of our marine life. Cleaning and preventing waste such as plastic entering our oceans would help our oceans thrive.
Sea Shepherd UK is a registered conservation charity that fights against these threats and helps protect the precious nature of our Oceans. The Journey
The team of 6 will cycle from London to Amsterdam in 3 days. The funds from this individual fundraiser will be transferred towards the main Team-fundraiser which is set to hit £5000 with the total team effort.
Our itinerary is as follows:
26th May - London Piccadilly to Dover, 86 miles
27th May - Ferry crossing to Dunkirk, Dunkirk to Antwerp 120 miles
28th May - Antwerp to Amsterdam 125 miles
My pledge to you – I will provide you with my route, updates, and photos of my journey across England, France, Belgium and Netherlands. I hope to see you along the way :-D

525 kilométer, 6 biciklista, 3 nap, 2 város, 1 cél: tegyük jobb hellyé az Óceánokat!
Tengereinket túlhalásszuk és szennyezzük. Viszont szemétdombnál és még élelemnél is nagyobb szükségünk van rá: segít nekünk lélegezni. Az óceánok termelik az oxigénünk legnagyobb részét. Ha az óceánok kihalnak, nekünk sem lesz esélyünk.
Viszont a megoldás nincs messze! A legnagyobb veszélyforrások, mint az illegális és szabályozatlan túlhalászat, az illegalális bálna-, delfin- és cápavadászat mind kezelhető, ha megvan hozzá a tőke és a tenni akarás. A Sea Shepherd rendelkezik ez utóbbival, anyagi forrása pedig a közönség, célja ezen fenti problémák orvoslása a lehető leghatékonyabban. Többek között olyan helyi akcióik vannak, mint az ún. Ghostnet Campaign, ami a kiszeparált, elhagyott és óriási pusztítást maga után hagyó halászhálokat hívatott eltávolítani a tengerek felszínéről és mélyéről.
E biciklis kihívás azért jött létre, hogy összegyűjtsünk 5000 fontot a Sea Shepherd brit csoportjának, amit helyi kampányokra fordít. Ez a felhívás angol nyelven az alábbi címen érhető el:
A jelen kampányból befolyó adományok e fő kampányt fogják gazdagítani.
A 6 biciklista Londonból indulva 3 nap alatt fogja elérni Amsterdamot az alábbi menetrend szerint:
Május 26 - London Piccadilly - Dover , 140 km
Május 27 - Dover - Dunkirk komppal , Dunkirk - Antwerpen, 195 km
Május 28 - Antwerpen - Amsterdam, 190 km
