"Divine" Intervention: Save Iona!!!

Hi friends,
As some of you may already know, the Seattle Men’s Chorus’s incomparable EJ Refuerzo (who has been featured as “Divine” in several chorus shows) was robbed earlier today, while he was working Black Friday. His car was broken into, and nearly all of his drag supplies were stolen.
In his words, “All of my drag make up and wardrobe was stolen from the back seat of my car (est. $800), including my signature wig that I used to perform at Charlie's Phoenix, and Vegas.”
EJ performs as Iona Lottamen, and his drag is unbelievably important to him. EJ has organized the Chorus Night Out at Rumors in Bellingham for the past two years, negotiating free cover, drink specials, and free cab rides for chorus members. EJ has been unbelievably generous with his time, energy, and talent when it comes to the Seattle Men’s chorus.
If any of you have had the pleasure of being at an event Iona is hosting, or performing in, you know what a treasure she is. Iona Lottamen is the product of an unbelievable amount of love, time, and resources on EJ’s part. As her drag sister, I know how much Iona has to give, and I want to see her back in action (and in rhinestoned heels).
One of Iona’s upcoming gigs is to host the Drag Show at Eastern Washington University. The first drag show I ever saw was when I was a sophomore in college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, and it was eye opening for me. Truly. There were so many performers who were confident, secure, and sexy—and it really inspired me to explore a new artistic medium that has helped me develop stage presence and confidence as a performer. It’s also helped with my personal confidence, and sense of self-worth. Drag changes lives—and I can only imagine how many young people Iona has yet to inspire.
Are you able to help, with even a small donation, to help EJ rebuild Iona’s wardrobe. Together, we can rebuild her—better, faster, stronger—or in EJ’s words, “It’s like Star Trek!”
