DACA Renewals

Donation protected
Since September 5, 2017,  the status has been in limbo and subject to various - often contradicting - court interpretations. Right now, a DACA case is set to be heard in Texas on August 8, 2018. This court could very well put an end to renewals.

This deadline comes sooner than the expiration for mine and my sister's DACA. Typically, we would have been able to plan to have enough money for our renewals, but things have developed at a rapid pace. We want to send our renewals in by the deadline, but will need some help getting the $495 for each of us needed to renew. That's why I am asking for some help from those who may have the resources to donate even a little. It will allow me to continue a new job in a field I am passionate about and it will allow my sister to continue her education. Being able to renew our DACA permits another time will give us security for longer period of time and allow us to keep on with our lives with the normalcy that everyone deserves.

To get a sense of what not having this extended time with DACA could mean for us, listen to an interview I did with NPR's All Things Considered in January 2016: https://www.npr.org/2017/01/18/510440095/daca-student-under-trump-i-am-still-woven-into-the-fabric-of-this-country
