Make CTEPA a 501c3 nonprofit

Hello Community,

I am a 15-year-old high school student who has a great passion for serving the youth in my community. I work with low income and underserved youth in East Palo Alto. I am trying to make my program I started when I was 9 years old official now. I have held over 15 events over the last 6 years and many more small gatherings. All of the events I plan include a service, leadership and teamwork aspects to them. One of the many events I have held over the years is a Hygiene Kit Pool Party, Kids ranging from 5 all the way to 16 came and helped put together hygiene kits that included soap, shampoo, toothbrush & paste and deodorant to donate to homeless kids in the East Palo Alto and Belle Haven area. Then, the kids got to have an epic pool party and had pizza and enjoyed a day at the pool.

I really have been trying to get my program an official 501c3 Non-profit, but have always struggled, from all the processes, paperwork and finances, but over the last month, I have made it a goal of mine to get the ball rolling, earlier this month I filed my Articles of Incorporation with the state. I got it approved, but now I have to work on this next huge step, 501c3 filing (Becoming a Tax-exempt non-profit). All these 6 years I and my mom has mostly paid for all the events, food and other expenses. I have received amazing donations from several people from all over, yet there is so much more I have to pay for. Please help me raise my goal of at least $1,300. I have worked so hard to get to this point and the time has finally come. Please help me support kids in East Palo Alto. Let's create some change!

GOAL: Raise $1,300 by August 31st (So that when we get donations for our Halloween spectacular event we will be a tax-exempt non-profit)
