Please help the refugees in Europe!

Hi everyone,
My name is Josh Cliffords and I am from Los Angeles California. This fall I created a not for profit association in Belgrade Serbia called Save the Refugees.

Many of you may have seen televised footage of the refugees in their struggle to escape their war torn countries.  These people are kind, educated, and have suffered through terrible circumstances in order to have the opportunity to provide themselves and their families with a better future.

As of today, there are 20 ongoing  conflicts in countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.  The places that people once called home are no longer safe for them to raise their families or live a normal life.  In order to escape these horrific circumstances, people are willing to risk it all, as "home" as they once knew it no longer exists.

Over recent weeks, this crisis has reached critical levels as more people seek refuge in safe countries.  Serbia is a critical leg of their journey, as it is their final stop before they attempt to enter the Schengen Zone.  Men, women, and children (each day between 50-1000 per day) have been forced to live in limbo, seeking shelter in parks and train stations here in Belgrade Serbia.

To add to the problem, the weather in Belgrade Serbia is changing and winter is here.  Many people don't have shoes, jackets, tents (or if they do they are not waterproof), food, medical supplies or the basic necessities of life.  I am here begging the world to help fundraise $25,000 USD to go directly towards providing these essentials to help people through the harsh winter.

In the last 127 days, we have spent $9,345.55 to buy food and supplies for over 11,000 people.   The men, women and children we meet are kind, caring and are still holding onto hope in the face of great adversity.

Even the smallest of contributions can go a long way in Serbia.  Since establishing ourselves as a NGO we have been able to distribute:

8,995 pounds of produce

Savetherefugees.net

If just $9,345.55 can buy all of these supplies, just imagine how many people $25,000 can help!

Each and every day, we are working to make better contacts with distributors and other NGO's which is allowing us to work more efficiently and get better prices by dealing with manufacturers/farmers directly. Every penny of your contributions goes directly into the Save the Refugees campaign. Typically, within 72 hours of your donation, we are able to send you pictures of your money in action!

With your contributions, we have hired a local Serbian that has  been essential to the project. In every way, the project would not be possible without the help of this great man.  He has helped thousands of people with your help and contributions. With the donated funds, we are able to keep him on staff for at least one year!

Besides buying goods, during the month of November 2015, we were able to stop over 40,000 Euros of fraud in the Belgrade parks from the human traffickers  known as "agents" to the Refugees. We give the Refugees the information needed not to be cheated out of their life savings.

In the month of December 2015, by putting pressure on the Agents one turned in two human traffickers that were holding 20 refugees captive in a flat in Belgrade.

My profile picture, is a drawing by a young child named Adir Ali. His picture depicts his experience of the boat ride over, where one of his family members fell out of the boat and drowned at sea.

This is the reality for many families currently fleeing from war and poverty.  Please contribute anything that you possibly can to ease the pain of these brave and wary travelers.
