Girl Talk, Girl Power: Baltimore, Maryland
CSI Baltimore needs your support to continue implementing a community-focused program benefiting adolescent girls 12-16 years in underserved communities in Baltimore, Maryland. One of the best outcomes of the Girl Talk, Girl Power program, is how girls gain from the FREE 8-week summer camp that engages them with their peers, strengthens sisterhood, builds their literacy skills especially in writing, and self-development opportunities.
The summer camp program creates a safe space for girls out-of-school to learn, share, connect, discover their potential, and map out paths to achieve their dreams. It also connects girls to influential leaders in the Baltimore area and bridges gaps that contribute to Baltimore City and County Health Department goals to achieve a healthy and prosperous communities for all, including Baltimore's next generation.

CSI Baltimore skilled camp facilitators are from the community and are invested in their communities. Meet one of our amazing camp facilitators: Ms. Chelsea Davis, originally from Baltimore and recognized community service champion in making a difference for young people in her community.
The 8-week summer camp program will have engaging and interactive activities, surprise speakers to inspire the girls, coordinated field trips to expose them and build on their knowledge, lessons in cooking, team building, time management, financial literacy, and career visioning. The program will introduce global health, leadership, and other concepts to broaden their worldly views/perceptions.
We are excited about Girl Talk, Girl Power summer program and eager to see and share the impact of the program in averting unintended teenage pregnancies, introduction to drugs or increased use of drugs, controlling spread of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, and ensuring girls return to school confident, prepared, ready to learn and succeed.
