The journey to creating our family has been a long & emotional one. For the past 4 years or so, we have been trying to conceive. In February of 2017, we finally conceived our twins and were overjoyed. Then the unthinkable happened... Our girls were born too soon at a little over 4 months due to (p)PROM (preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes). Aviva & Jora were born on June 7, 2017 and lived for about five hours. Needless to say, we were devastated by this loss.
In the midst of trying to decide our next steps, a friend contacted us stating an adoption agency was looking for a black same-sex married couple to adopt a baby boy. The birth mother made a specific request for a family just like ours and the adoption agency did not have the resources to honor that request. This baby is due to be delivered on April 6, 2018! Is that kismet or what!? After working out some details with A Baby Step Adoption Agency, we were stunned at the cost. Who knew finding a home for a little life could be so expensive... It quickly became clear to us that to make this adoption possible, we would need help raising the funds by March 17, 2018. This would allow us to get the money to A Baby Step Adoption Agency prior to the birth to secure our position as this little one's parents. We are reaching out to our friends, family and generous donors to help make this adoption possible.
Any amount would be helpful as we would be taking in a newborn baby within 2 months without much time to prepare. Thank you in advance for considering helping us and donating.
