Cracovia Restaurant Robbery Repairs
My parents have worked very very hard over the past 8 years to start the first Polish Restaurant in the Denver area. As many of you know owning a family business is hard work, and the restaurant industry is especially demanding, requiring long hours in the kitchen. I can honestly say they have been through it all- bad employees, fraudulent customers, and obvious scams, but they have always persevered through it all with a positive attitude and outlook on life.
The Friday before Christmas, head chef and local hero Jutta Dellert was working long overnight hours to ensure Cracovia would be ready for their annual Christmas Eve Vigil Menu.
At approximately 4am she heard someone breaking in and called 911. Westminster Police were nearby and came quickly as she hid with a knife. The robber gained entry by breaking the front door glass and crawling in with a crow bar in hand. When he heard police nearby, he escaped through a side door, but was caught a short time later at a nearby intersection.
We are so lucky that no one was hurt and very grateful to Westminster Police for coming to the rescue. Since we are a family-owned and operated restaurant, we would like to ask our community for small donations to help us cover the cost of the damages including replacement of the front door which is now sealed with plywood (and makes us susceptible to another break in!).
We would like to replace the door as soon as possible but simply do not have the funds at this time to do so. Any donation big or small will help us tremendously!
