My Dental Partial Fund

My name is Corinna. I am a formerly homeless, drug addict, who is now in recovery. Here's my story. I lived a chaotic life on the streets of Visalia for about two years. I lost everything including my home, job and dignity. My life was hopeless and helpless. I resorted to living in a friends backyard in a tent. Content with my surroundings. Well in December 2013 I landed in a jail. That same day I was given the option of serving my time in jail or starting a program through the county to get clean and sober outside of jail. I chose to start the program knowing I would still be homeless. It was challenging and at times I wanted to quit. However, I didn't and it began to work. Soon after, I heard about a program through CSET called Permanent Supportive Housing. I applied , qualified, and I was housed in September 2014.
In October 2015, I became aware of a position on the Kings/Tulare Homeless Alliance board. I applied, was interviewed. I was accepted as a consumer board member, and I am still currently serving in that position.
It's a joy for me to be involved in the decisions that affect my community. Being a voice for the people who are in the situation I was once in.
My short term goals are to let people know there is hope. It's a process, but it is worth the effort. My long term goal is to seek employment now that I have confidence. I have been through an on the job training program through CSET. I think I would like to work in the field of outreach. I have a passion to see people succeed no matter who they are or where they've been. People just like me. No one is exempt that's what I've learned.
I am currently in need of a partial for my teeth. It means alot because this is what I need go out and find a job, with confidence and a beautiful smile. I am thankful to God, for my new life. He is priority in my life. And I would be ever thankful to whoever can help me and be part of my journey .
Thank You,
Corinna Franco
