Cooking Love, an Olicity campaign

Donation protected
The Olicity fandom is known for the love for our two beautiful love birds, Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak. But it’s also known for its kindness, generosity, and the fact that the people in it have the ability to unite and do great things when they get together for a great cause.

Last year, this amazing fandom celebrated not only the Olicity wedding, but also raised more than 1300$ for charity. As the anniversary of both these events approaches (the wedding and the campaign), it's time to celebrate (again) !

Without further ado, I present to you Cooking Love : an Olicity anniversary campaign !

As much as the show is known for its darkness, it also has its really funny  moments (like Dig's reactions to metahumans), and it sometimes is borderline hilarious. Like Felicity's cooking skills - or more like the lack thereof.

We were told repeatedly that Felicity can't cook (a flaw she has obviously inherited from her mother, who, with all the jobs she had taken on to provide for her genius daughter, never really had the time for it), and that in the Smoak-Queen family, it's Oliver who's the chef.

So it is more than likely  that Felicity has probably struggled a lot during those last months, with having to cook for and look after a teenager in full growth spur, without her own chef at home, and it seems only fair to think a few cooking classes could have helped her a lot in this area.

Unfortunately, when talking about cooking skills, the majority of people are more of a Felicity Smoak than an Oliver Queen.

A lot of families around the world struggle with financial crises on a daily basis and the fear not to being able to put something on the table for their families to eat is just a brutal reality.

This charity campaign focuses on helping those families, and especially the ones of single mothers. The funds raised will be donated to The Sustainable Culinary School , based in Grande Bom Jardim, one of the poorest region of Fortaleza, in the North-East of Brazil.

The Sustainable Culinary School provides free job training in the culinary arts for low-income community members, especially single mothers. Its goal is to fight multi-generational poverty, promote better nutrition and a healthier environment for community members, while offering certification in the culinary arts, greatly improving students' employability and mental health.

Some students from the pilot class have already started their own businesses, and others are working in restaurants and grocery stores. The boost in self-esteem, job prospects, and community ties will have an immeasurably positive impact on both the stability of each student's life and family, as well as the community at large.

First goal is to raise 500 US $ in time for Oliver and Felicity 1st anniversary, aka November 28th. If we get to the goal before that date, we will set another one.

Let us help Brazilian single mothers to cook as many healthy meals for their children as they can as an anniversary  gift to our beloved couple.

Last but not least : a big thank you to Nelly (@felicitymqueen) for the amazing design she provided for this campaign, and to Muriel (@NoDecaff4Me) for her help with the English.

Please note the currency is in Euro, as I’m French, but the donation will be made in American Dollar. The exchange rate (€ -> $) is currently 1.14, so 1$ = 0.88€ / 1€ = 1,14 $ ”
