Women inspiring Women thru cooking
Donation protected
As a nurse of over 30 years, it breaks my heart that Australian children are hospitalised with malnutrition ....the basic skill of cooking has being lost for many families. I have a team of volunteers and a kitchen ready in Newcastle NSW to teach 10 women from disadvantaged backgrounds basic cooking skills and send them home each week with knowledge plus a meal to feed a family of 4. It will cost $20 a week for each woman and we have 10 ladies waiting and willing to learn. I will teach them how to shop on a budget and making ends meet. But we need the money for the ingredients. The hope is that over time our groups will continue each term and our base will grow and positive changes can happen for these families. We will teach them food hygiene and handling in a safe trusting environment. These women have not had that positive role model in their lives. They've not known the delightful smells coming from a loving family kitchen. They lack any knowledge of how to turn basic produce into a meal. Lets make a change for the better and support Australian families in our community.
