Community Aquaponic Garden

Kokopelli Ranch is an intentional community in Northern California and home to a residential recovery program called Recovery in Action. Not only do we have a commitment to a spiritual and sober environment, we also maintain a commitment to living as sustainably as possible. We grow and harvest our own produce, raise chickens for eggs, and we are now expanding our community garden to include an aquaponics system and grow house. 
Living in California, we must be wary of our water usage; aquaponics only uses 1/10 of the amount of water used in a traditional garden. An aquaponics system also provides an environment free from pests, which leaves our produce clean and pesticide-free. In addition to sustainably growing produce for our community, an aquaponics system can provide edible fish as well.
