Completing our family together!

To our family and friends, Ryan and I have wanted to be parents even before we were married. Unfortunately, there has always been something that has made it impossible for that dream to happen. Whether it is has been by being in different countries, medically, or financially. Our journey to parenthood has been a bumpy one that has been out of our hands for the most part. In 2009 I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Cervical Cancer. Due to it's aggressivness we didn't have a chance to save my eggs for later. I went through rounds of chemo, radiation therapy, and a hysterectomy. Our chances to have our baby was gone. So we waited to see what we should do next. Recently we did try to go through the state Foster Care system to adopt, but unfortunately due to us not having enough experience with being a parent and with the agency, we were turned down for the little ones we were hoping to adopt. As a result of this recent denial, Ryan and I both agreed that it may not be the time for us to go down that path and to select another one. So with saying that, we have decided to adopt a baby. In our hearts we both would like to have an infant so that we can experience every moment as new parents. After looking into different agencies, we found an agency that we plan to be working with during this process. Most people know that adoption is not easy and it is expensive. We plan to use every penny we have to make our dream come true. Sacrifices and hard work is going into saving everything for this adoption. Due to our eagerness, or should I say mine, we are short by a few thousand dollars right now. The funds that we are needing is for the upfront fee to start the process with the agency, then over the next six months we will be able to save the rest as we go. There are other fees, such as a Homestudy, printing and mailing costs for our Family Book, travel expenses which will depend on where our Birthmother is located, and finalization fees for the attorney and the state when we bring our new baby home. We have looked into grants and are unable to apply until after we start the Homestudy. We would like to get the process going sooner than later and we can't do that without a little help. We can't wait to be parents together and complete our journey as a family. We appreciate all the support that we receive from everyone. Not just with this but with being by our side through it all. All proceeds will only be used in regards to the adoption. A separate account has been set up for these funds. This is our dream and we can't wait to make it happen!
