Community Gym (for a country Town)

Donation protected
Hi my name is Sue and I live in a small country town called Nundle. I lost 30 kg's and became a Group fitness instructor that was 17 years ago and I taught classes for 10 years in Muswellbrook by just hiring rooms from PCYC and scout halls. I stopped teaching 7 years ago and now 7 years later, my 3 girls have grown up and I have a 6 year old boy with autism.
I spent 3 years travelling 4 days a week to other towns over 1 hour away to get the services I needed to help him. I had put 17 kg's back on and I felt sorry for myself but I was totally committed to helping him be able to attend our country school.
OUR TOWN NEEDS more community services.
WHAT CAN WE DO AS AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP TO HELP.
I learnt many lessons and skills over these from many people including OT and Speech Therapists and Early intervention Service's.
The main thing I learnt was SUPPORT, it doesn't matter what GOAL you are trying to achieve you need to set up your support network.
You need to do a liitle every day towards your goal no matter how small and believe you are going to achieve it.

My passion was with training and being a fat loss trainer.

Why do I do it, because losing weight and becoming strong and fit changes you life. You become CONFIDENT, HAPPY AND CAN FIT INTO THOSE CLOTHES THAT YOU LOVE TO WEAR.
"I LOVE IT"
So now Eric is at school and it's time to be passionate again.  I lost those 17kg's and I BECAME A TRAINER AGAIN.
I was going to provide a service that this town didn't have and I desperatly needed.
I HAD TO GO BACK INTO THE GYM ENVIROMENT AGAIN to achieve it.
SO I BUILT A GYM!
NOTHING WAS GOING TO STOP ME

It has taken 18 months to achieve it, but if done it.
I truly believed I was the only person that would do this in this small tonw because it will be alot of  hours work and earn very little.
I enclosed a 6 by 8 meter verandah of the local Nundle Bowling Club (which will close down if we dont support and use it)and purchased some great refurbished equipment and I need to open it ,but I need a few more items to finish it and I am out of Funds.
I have spent $70,000 and I need$5,000 more.
This space needs to service the elderly, the young and older farmers, the farmers wifes and the children.
We need gym flooring and a recumbent bike for the elderly and a Rower a few light handweights and THEN THE GYM will be finished.
This gym will give the elderly a place and a trainer to help thim with their mobility and strength as they age. STRENGTH TRAINING for the elderly is a must.
It will provide a social enviroment for all the farmers and wifes to meet and train and to make friends.
You become very isloated in the country and especially if you have a child with a disability.
I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
But it will also provide a service to our youth that miss out on so many services.
CAN YOU HELP ME FINISH IT SO I CAN OPEN IT.
Opening day will be 31st of January.
Thankyou Sue
