We have only hit $500 of the $5,000 GoFundMe goal. We need your help! Any contribution is welcomed and appreciated, no matter how small.
Challenge: Hawk Merlin Studios will contribute an additional $250 if we get the GoFundMe total to $1500 by December 15th.
Anyone else want to offer up a challenge to end this fund raiser with a bang and get us to $5,000???
Now is the time to donate and get us closer to the $5000 GoFundMe goal.
The recent Eagle Creek fire in the Columbia River Gorge that also jumped the river to the Washington side (Archer Mountain fire), has highlighted the importance of supporting the many emergency responder organizations that support our communities in many ways.
The three organizations that will benefit from this fundraising campaign are:
Stevenson Volunteer Firefighters Association-WA
Wind River Search and Rescue-WA
Crag Rats /Hood River County Search and Rescue-OR
(new raised funds on top of current $500 raised) will be distributed equally in 3 parts in January 2018 to the organizations, less the GoFundMe fees)
These organzizations are staffed by volunteers and these individuals dedicate their time and energy to support and protect the communities they live in. And, in many cases they put their lives in danger. These organizations depend on donations from the public to maintain consistent and predictable budgets.
In the case of the Stevenson Volunteer Firefighters Association, they are the charitable arm of the Stevenson Fire Department to collect donations to be used for fire hardships, medical loss, and scholarships.
The organizations will use the funds to purchase and maintain necessary gear, will provide training for their crews, and other purposes needed to be fully prepared to act quickly in case of emergencies in the communities they serve.
As a side note, the Fundraiser concert we held on September 16th at Walking Man Brewing raised $6978 for these three charities, ($2326 for each organization!). Bob Craig, Owner of Walking Man Brewing, personally donated $3,489 to the cause! Thank you Bob and Tabatha Wiggins from Walking Man Brewing for your contributions!(Julie Amici and her band performed as "Subliminal Dog Heads", the charity house band of Hawk Merlin Studios. Julie and her band put on an amazing show!)
