Why South Africa Baby Home?
A year ago, I, Aline had the opportunity to visit Hope House baby home, located in Pinetown, a small town in the outskirts of Durban, South Africa (https://www.babyhopehouse.org.za.) She saw first hand how well the nursery ran and how happy the once abandoned infants and toddlers appeared. The individuals operating this establishment truly understand how important love and affection are, and this is demonstrated over and over again by the treatment of the children residing in the nursery and long after the adoption process. They endeavor to ensure the children and adoptive families have a strong support system in their “forever homes” within their respective countries. I shared my experience with Kim. Witnessing their values and ethics inspired us to want to donate our time and efforts to Baby Hope House. Baby Hope House is truly a wonderful place run by amazing selfless individuals that fulfill families dreams!

Hope House needs extra TLC.
Recently Hope House experienced a horrible tragedy. One of the two owners, Lynne, had a stroke and passed away suddenly. This has left Sonia, co- owner, who was also struggling with her own health issues, to care for the babies on her own.

Hope House & Code Life Together at Last
In the wake of this tragedy, the initial plan to volunteer at Hope House was expedited. We were in agreement, Baby Hope House needed help. In addition, we have been given the wonderful opportunity to teach therefore, providing us with the possibility to fulfill our dream and begin the process to pioneer Code Life Global Health Project!

(This was taken at Aline's last infant/family class. The babies were present with mom's and dad's during the session. They (needless to say) were ADORABLE and amazing participants!)

Our Plan of Action
Our objective is to equip current as well as supporting staff, and future families, with the skill-set and knowledge to manage their newly adopted baby in case of an emergency. We will do so by teaching a first aid session, designed by Code Life, which combines both the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s CPR, choking, Anaphylaxis and First Aid for infants, and children, in conjunction of our nursing knowledge. The course is a revision of the already existing Family-Infant course to ensure it is culturally appropriate. Our aim is to make this project self-sustainable.

9-1-1
We are two women entrepreneurs starting from scratch. We are responsible for all expenses towards this incredible life altering project. Such, room and board, food, teaching, and flight. Needless to say we have limited funds and this is where you come in! Please help us achieve our goal! Your financial contribution will assist all the babies, caregivers, volunteers, current and future families in addition to us! During this trip, we will be staying onsite at Hope House, at a cost, lending a hand to Sonia and assisting her with the daily care of the children. Furthermore, we are bringing with us, on our flights, the equipment necessary to complete our educations sessions and need help paying for our tickets. Finally, with the money we raise we plan to provide supplies, such as diapers, wipes, baby food, clothing and formula (bought in South Africa in order to promote the local economy) All contributions are welcomed!

All of us together, we will be giving back on so many levels.

You are incredible!
We want to thank you all, in advance, from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and helping us make this dream come true.
*please note receipts are available upon request*

Come With Us!
We would love it if you accompany us on our journey! We will be keeping you up to date throughout our whole trip!
