Earthquake in Nepal

Donation protected
It's only been a few days since the 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal, and the initial death toll estimate of hundreds has risen to an astounding 4,200, and is still rising. As remote villages are reached, I'm sure the assessments will be even more heartbreaking.

If you donated to my last campaign to do disaster relief in the Philippines during the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, then you know the drill, and hopefully you saw the video I made about the experience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMHW3A1J--8)

I am planning to go to Nepal. I don't want to wait for volunteer organizations to give the clearance for people to come when everything is safe. Disasters and death tolls don't wait for things to be safe. People are dying, and I have skills I can contribute to help.

I've been told by countless sources that medical personnel are needed more than anything else, and I've already been in touch with the medical director of a clinic who's told me they could really use volunteers and that I would be more than welcome to work with them.

Because I'm going unaffiliated this time, I don't know what sort of accommodations I might run into, or how long I'm planning to stay (most likely a couple weeks). That's the only reason why the goal is set at what it is.

Please consider donating. I'm sure many of you want to go volunteer yourself, but I also understand that for many, it's not realistic to just pick up and go. I am lucky enough to be able to do that for the time being, and it would mean a lot to me - as a friend, as a human being - if you helped. Like I tell people each time: those who have the ability to help should have a responsibility to help.

Thank you.
