My name is Bruce Jakubovitz and I am the owner of the Summit Resort Hotel in Cupecoy, St Maarten.

The Summit Resort Hotel was destroyed by Hurricane Irma in the early hours of September 6, 2017. One of the first hotels to open on Sint Maarten, the Summit has been welcoming guests to our beautiful island since 1973 and offered a unique blend of "Old World Caribbean Charm."

The Summit won TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence Award six years in a row, was inducted into TripAdvisor's Hall of Fame and won TripAdvisor's  coveted Travelers' Choice Award in 2017.

What made the Summit such a special place, in the minds of so many, was its warm and welcoming staff. Review after review raved about our staff and credited them with making guests feel they were visiting their Sint Maarten "home away from home" when staying at the Summit.

Our Head of Housekeeping, Ms. Mena, has been ensuring guest comfort for 44 years, since the day we first opened. Our General Manager, Mena's daughter "Evans," has run the Summit for the past eight years and deserves a great deal of the credit for its success. Our front desk, maintenance, gardening and security staff all contributed to the welcoming environment Summit guests enjoyed. Now they need your help.

When Hurricane Irma, the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour, roared through St Maarten it not only destroyed the Summit, and countless other businesses, but it deeply affected our staff and their families as well. We are conducting this campaign to raise money for our staff in order to help them rebuild their homes and their lives.

100% of any donation you make will go straight to helping our staff because I, as owner of the Summit, will pay all of the credit card processing and any other fees charged to run this campaign directly. Your donations will be used to help our staff repair their homes, rebuild their lives and get back on their feet as quickly as possible. Funds will be transferred to our employees through our normal banking process to allow for proper tracking of all monies raised.

Please be as generous as you can. Our staff have been there for you for so many years. Now they need you to be there for them. Thank you for any help you can give.
