Help us Sing at the Invictus Games

The Canadian Military Wives Choir (CMWC) Comox could use your assistance.   

We are an entirely member funded group and our choir operates within a budget using membership fees and honorariums for local performances within the community.  We are supported in many ways by our local base; however, we receive no funding from the Canadian Military.  

Our choir of 34 very dedicated military wives, mothers and serving members has been given the incredible honour of being invited to sing, shoulder to shoulder with all other Canadian Military Wives Choirs across Canada, in support of the athletes and their families at the 2017 Invictus Games for our Wounded Warriors on September 23rd.  This event will take place in Toronto.

Participating athletes are servicemen and women who have put their lives on the line and suffered life changing injuries and who are now using sports as a way to heal themselves and inspire others. We know first hand what it means to have a loved one in harm's way.  This is likely why our choirs were asked to support the games in our special way!

It will be such a privilege to lend our voices in Toronto and sing for these determined athletes - any one of whom could be our husband, wife, son or daughter. We are actively fundraising in the community through many means including singing, baking, hosting dinners, silent auctions, catalogue campaigns, car washes and other avenues.  Any donations received from this Go Fund Me page will help off-set our significat personal travel expenses to and from Toronto.  Our choir has the longest and most expensive journey and reducing the financial burden ensures that this opportunity is open to all of us!

About Us:

The CMWC Comox was founded in January 2015 and was the second of its kind in Canada.  Our main purpose is to create a support network for women in the military community through singing. The nomadic life of the military family means that it can be difficult to put down roots, make friends, and create support networks with each move. Choir is a creative, fun-filled way for women to support each other through difficult times and to celebrate the successes and good times of each member – all while singing!
