Clowns for Haiti
2 years ago, Chery Rosmin, our friend for over 7 years and Principal of the school in Shanty Town, Canaan, outside Port Au Prince, had a vision for creating a new school. Brian Beardsley, Charles John and Peter Gannon proposed to build ‘St. Patricks School’ on the Hills of Canaan.
Last month work commenced.
The clowns are very excited!
When St Patricks is built, it will be green. It will cater for 200 children over 2 class periods - morning and afternoon, - within 80 square meter classrooms. There will also be toilets. It will also work as a community church and/or clown theatre space for children to learn performing arts.
Budget Cost is $HT 7000. (Seven thousand) Dollars. The community is volunteering and building. Brian and Peter will be going over to help early in the New Year.

The old school desks we were familiar with when we were young can accommodate 4 children. We need 45 desks. These desks can be made in Haiti, --- in a technical school providing training and employment.
80 desks were donated last week by our friend, Gena Heraty, from the Orphanage she runs in Haiti and 100 children still need a desk.
A desk will cost €100 --- just €25 per child.
Could you help sponsor a desk or contribute towards a place for one child. All contributions much appreciated.
Clowns for Haiti Team
We have a team going to Haiti in September.
Please continue to support us.
Once again the Clowns for Haiti circus is taking on the challenge of the Dublin Marathon on October 29th 2017! This year Tara Whelan (Canada), Hubi and Lara Windegger (Switzerland) and Martin Whelan (the local yokel in exile) will be joining the Clowns For Haiti team to help raise funds for the children of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We are very proud to be representing Clowns for Haiti in their unceasing, steadfast and big hearted support to re-build and resource schools in Haiti. Since 2010, Clowns for Haiti, founded in Dublin by the two heroes, Peter Gannon and Peter Hanley, have delivered hundreds of performances and workshops to communities in both countries in an effort to raise awareness of Haiti's plight. This year Clowns for Haiti are helping to build a new school in Canaan (outside Port Au Prince) which will cater for 200 children. Please support the Clowns for Haiti and help bring a little joy and hope into the lives of the children by clicking on the link on this page. Thanks for all contributions…no donation is too small, every cent will count directly towards this great project. Go, Clowns, go!!!
