Cleft Palate Surgery For Kids

Hi

My name is Sean I am 12 years old. My dad is helping me with a project where I get to chose one charity to raise money and donate.  I chose Smile Train.

The $250 I want will help 1 kid to repair a clef palate repair.

My Brother Adam had a cleft palate.  He looked like a normal kid on the outside but believe it or not the top part of his mouth was missing he could stick his tong in to his nose. He’s not the only one in my family with a cleft palate either.  My aunt had a different type of cleft lip on both sides of her mouth from her lip to her nose was missing.   Many of other family members had this to, as it runs in our family.

I want to help people like my brother look and feel normal.  I don’t want them to have problems eating or drinking.  I want them to feel comfortable with who they are and how they look.
