Citizen’s Water Lobby Day - Demanding Responsible Water Policy From Our Elected Officials
On February 8th, groups from across Wisconsin will come together at our state Capitol to demand responsible water policy from our elected officials.
While we may have come to this fight through different avenues: CAFOs, frac sand mining, pipelines, mines, or social justice; we are united in our call for clean and abundant water in Wisconsin. We intend to engage with our elected officials until we have absolute certainty that our water is protected from various forms of pollution. February 8th is just the beginning of our fight and we hope you will consider standing with us and contributing to the event.
We're up against a well-oiled and well-funded machine when it comes to industry in Wisconsin and Governor Walker's mantra of 'open for business' is putting the clean waters of our state at risk. We are hoping that a diverse group of citizens join forces on February 8th to let our elected officials know that clean and abundant water is the right of every Wisconsin citizen. It's important that we show our elected officials and the industry lobbyists that we have joined forces and are standing together, shoulder to shoulder, in defense of our water and our way of life.
Donations made to this event will be used to offset expenses for planning, advertising, printing, hospitality, transportation logistics, and numerous other incidental expenses. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
