Chrystal's Children Center

From February to March I will be traveling to Uganda where I will volunteer in Chrystal Children's Center. Chrystal children’s center is a 24/7 Child Care Center for rescued and abandoned babies, orphans and vulnerable children, that had lost hope and love. The Center is a Registered Non Government Organization and an Early Childhood Development Center. Chrystal Children’s Center aims to provide a safe, loving, space in Uganda and support each child as they grow up.

As the HIV/AIDs epidemic in Uganda is ever present combined with the high rates of poverty, many children are left as orphans. The HIV/AIDs epidemic results in around 2⁄3 of Ugandans to be under 15 years old. As many children are left as orphans, there is rarely enough adults to care and play with the children allowing for brain stimulation, causing their brains to be underdeveloped. Chrystal Children's Center has become a safe haven for many children who desperately need love and support in their lives, and works to provide beneficial health care and therapeutic games to improve brain development. Chrystal Children’s Center pays for the medical care of the children, their food, and clothes, and electricity.

The money donated to the Childcare Center can go towards buying well needed items such as medical supplies, vitamins, feeding bottles, diapers, as well as many other necessary items. That being said, many of the items needed by Chrystal Children’s Center are items that can be found in your home. If you have any old children clothing, easy reading books, puzzles, crayons, pencils, or diaper creams, please donate the items to me and I will bring them to Chrystal’s when I go.

Donating even the smallest amount of money will go a long way for the many children at Chrystal Children's Center. I thank you in advance for your support and help with trying to tackle poverty and improve the lives of children in Uganda.
