Our Community Garden Revitalization

Donation protected
For years, our community garden has been both an eyesore and a useless area in our school community.  I believe that it started much bigger than what our school and community was able to maintain and then became our monster garden.  We have already put much work into cleaning and bringing it down from an area with decomposing broken planter boxes, waisthigh overgrown weeds, and trees that made the area inaccessible to a good starting point for a revitalization project.  We have two more phases for this project and we need some help with funding.  This project to it's completion will cost upwards of $3000 and we already have $850

Our goal is to bring back 6-8 planterboxes, lay filter fabric, lay baserock and bark, plant indigenous drought tolerant plants, install water access and drip irrigation, create a nature learning area, install benches, and most importantly create a sense of community in doing so.

We have partnered with student grops from SJSU in the past to work on Phase 1 (the cleaning).  We are currently working with West Hills Evergreen Community Church on Phase 2 (which is where we are now).  Our Final Phase (Phase 3) will come afterwards.

We are working with organizations on getting supply discounts but still need your help.  This funding will help us get through Phase 2 and 3.  Can you help?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
