Children's Home Northern Thailand
Hello,
I am volunteering at the Asian Children's Foundation in Northern Thailand. The children housed here were in dire need of basics like nutrition, safety, education and love. These basic needs are now provided by Buaket and her husband Ian. This is a family-run organisation and the children here are raised as a big, thirty children, family. There are four full-time members half are grown children originally from the foundation who have since come back to help raise the others.
The children at the Asian Children's Foundation are "High Risk" which means their situation before arriving was at a point of serious danger to the child. This foundation takes in the neediest and vulnerable children in the area (mostly from the northern hills in Thailand). More importantly the children who have nowhere else to go, they have been turned away from all other orphanages and rejected due to health issues, birth defects or funding issues.
Asian Children's Foundation believes all children deserve the right to safety, nutrition and love and will not see these children turned away.
The foundation was started as Buaket and Ian retired from working in similar organisations in the district. Their retirement did not last a year before the demand for another home became too obvious to bear. Since 2014 the foundation has grown to thirty children ranging from newborn babies to 18.
The children's home relies on support from the local community and private donations. Any donation you can give will be gratefully received and will help raise these children. Ian and Buaket take no salary from any gift or donation all the money is collected for the overall foundation and each child is cared for evenly as a true family.
Buaket and Ian want to give every child in their care the opportunity for further education if they desire it. This is another reason to donate.
If we reach the goal it will help ensure safety, education, nutrition for each child here at ACF.
