Cheltenham High School Walkout

The students of Cheltenham High School are banding together to demand that our representatives enact legislation to protect us and our communities from the omnipresent proliferation of gun violence in America. We’ll be orchestrating a full day walkout and rally on April 20th, the anniversary of Columbine, which will be a day of teaching and learning about civic engagement and a vehicle through which to demonstrate our collective power and ability to spark change. In order to make the event a well run day of protest and education, we’ll need funds from our community for sound and staging equipment, signage, student safety and other necessities. In addition, we’ll be selling food and T-shirts to raise money for a gun violence prevention organization of the students’ choice, for which we’ll need up front funds as well. A small portion of this money will go towards obtaining necessary supplies and personnel for a well-organized walkout and rally, and the rest will go towards a gun violence prevention organization of the CHS students’ choice.
