Please be our last hope. Help keep the only doors open in the United States for Venezuelan families in crisis. In January 2016, Patricia Andrade, the founder of Venezuela Awarness foundation, started a new program called Raices Venezolanas Miami (translated as Venezuelan Roots Miami) with its sole purpose to assist the many displaced families arriving to South Florida in need. Venezuelan families in the hundreds of thousands had been escaping the political, economic, and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela. With food shortages and living conditions the worst they’ve ever been as the country plummeted into chaos, millions have fled the country, in some cases with only the clothes on their backs, leaving everything behind. Entire families separated out of necessity, arriving in different countries by land, sea, or air, with their entire lives rushed into a suitcase or backpack and little or no money to survive. Our mission at Raices Venezolanas is to assist them upon arrival and grant them the necessities that provide quality of life completely free of cost - the every day things that make life easier, so that they can have a fresh start in this land of opportunity they unexpectedly now call home. We provide household items and other basic things to improve quality of life. Raices Venezolanas is fueled completely by community donations, and, by miracle and constant search for donations, have managed to keep the doors open and help families in need for four blessed years, but now we desperately need your help. Raices Venezolanas is 100% non-profit and does not receive any kind of financial assistance from any government institution. We manage the monthly rent of the storage facility we operate out of completely by miracle month after month. Families are arriving in record numbers and we have little to no budget to create the programs needed to best help them. We are the only organization helping Venezuelan displaced families in the entire United States of America and our doors might close. Please, we need your help to keep our dream and the dreams of hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan’s alive.

En enero de 2016, Patricia Andrade, fundadora de la fundación Venezuela Awarness, inició un nuevo programa llamado Raíces Venezolanas Miami, cuyo único propósito es ayudar a las muchas familias desplazadas que llegan al sur de la Florida a escapar de la decadente situación en su país de origen. Como todos sabemos, a estas alturas, las condiciones de vida en Venezuela están en su peor momento, el país se hundió en el caos, millones han huido del país, en la mayoría de los casos dejando todo atrás, familias enteras llegando a diferentes países ya sea por tierra o aire, con toda su vida resumida en una maleta o mochila.

Nuestra misión es ayudarlos a su llegada con algunas de las cosas materiales de cada día que les facilitan la vida, para que puedan tener un nuevo comienzo en esta tierra de oportunidades llamada Los Estados Unidos de América, que ahora se ha convertido en su nuevo hogar.

Recibimos en donaciones de otras familias venezolanas y de familias estadounidenses, artículos para el hogar y todo lo demás relacionado con equipar una nueva casa para comenzar de nuevo, en este momento estamos agradecidos de estar completamente abastecidos y aquí es donde necesitamos su ayuda, no recibimos ningún tipo de fondos de ninguna institución gubernamental, y nos mantenemos únicamente con practicamente milagros mensuales, el costo mensual del alquiler de la instalación de almacenamiento, donde recibimos y despachamos a las familias que llegan necesitadas es alto, también necesitamos tener presupuesto suficiente que nos permita ir expandiendo y financiando diferentes programas para las muchas familias necesitadas, y para poder sostener este esfuerzo en el tiempo, necesitamos recaudar una cantidad sustancial de dinero.
Por eso estamos pidiendo especialmente fondos para poder mantener vivo el sueño. Somos la única organización que ayuda a familias venezolanas desplazadas en el sur de Florida.
