Ashley Schenkel is fundraising

Sadie's Golden Years Animal Sanctuary, Inc.
This goal should meet our immediate needs of being able to prepare our interim property with appropriate fencing and shelters.
As you read this, we are preparing for a move to Northern California to move into a temporary home, while we scout Northern California and Southern Oregon for an appropriate property to purchase.
We are looking for a property of 10 acres or more, to allow us ample room for our animals to spread out, and live a life of love and joy. We are moving March of 2024.
We are Ashley and Anthony, and we love animals. We have always had animals in our family, and understand the importance and responsibility of caring for animals over the entire course of their lifespan.
We started a non-profit senior dog sanctuary, Sadie's Golden Years Animal Sanctuary, to save senior dogs, and provide a loving home where dogs can live their final years with love, happiness, and the comfort and safety of a pack around them. Currently, we have three dogs, but we are just getting started!!
How did we get to this point?
Several years ago, we lost our sweet dog Sadie at the dignified age of 15. Sadie passed away at home with us, peacefully, surrounded by her pack and love. Losing our girl was beyond painful, however, in the months after we discussed how fortunate we were to have a peaceful ending to her life; that even in her death, she was able to continue feeling safe and surrounded by her pack.
We started talking about how beautiful it would be to have a senior dog rescue. A place where we could take in the silver muzzled senior dogs and ensure they felt safe, loved, cared for, and part of a family and a pack, right up to their final day...
As we began planning, we realized with acreage, we would be able to care for many animals, including livestock, and well, we also love goats. There are a lot of goats that need rescue as well you know... And maybe a unique donkey who needs a home. And well, we wouldn't say no to a few chickens if we had the space. And maybe one pig named Delilah...
And so it began.
While we obviously have a great love for animals, we are also incredibly realistic. We want to start our sanctuary with planning and integrity. We WANT to be able to take in many animals, however, we will certainly grow our pack slowly and with careful consideration. The last thing we want to do is overextend ourselves with limited resources.
Our animals will always come first, and we won't take in an animal until we are sure we have the resources to care for it (and our standards for animal care are quite high!). Currently Ashley makes homemade dog food for all of our dogs!!

A nonprofit is only as strong as the community that supports it. When a community pulls together, anything is possible.
We are proudly a 501c3, which means your donation to our sanctuary may be 100% tax-deductible. Please reference our EIN number 85-2681667.
We are ready to continue putting in the long days, hard labor, cold nights, blood, sweat and tears.
We need your financial assistance to make it happen.
We can't thank you enough for supporting our dream and our pack.
This is for you Sadie girl, we love you.
