Pro-life Champions

We have been given an opportunity to share Ian’s story! Shout My Story is an organization that shares the real-life journeys of couples who chose life for their babies. I have written up part of our HLHS* journey for their website shoutmystory.org. They would like to make ~10 short videos this year for sharing on social media, etc and would like to feature Ian!!

The President of Pro-life Champions (founded Shout My Story) was frank, the limiting factor in making these short film projects is always the budget. Each video costs ~$5,000 total. So, we are giving Ian’s “fans” the opportunity to really let him shine. We already know he is a star, but I hope he can touch lives through this medium. God didn’t give him those good looks for nothing! Ian’s scars are someone else’s sign of hope. 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect. And there are countless other types of fetal anomalies where parents receive devastating news like we received 6 years ago. It is scary and they need encouragement. Sadly, without hope, some choose abortion. Can’t imagine life without Ian, he is irreplaceable!

Ian may have half a heart, but he lives a full life. This is what we want to show people that receive an HLHS diagnosis. He lives life in full color and at top speed most of the time! He is in Kindergarten with a pretty normal life, aside from a few meds and a couple extra doctor appointments. He loves zooming around on his bike or scooter, he plays soccer, he likes watching Dude Perfect with his sisters, he is quite a little artist, and he recently won an academic award called Principal’s Pride at school. This kid is one of kind!

* HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome)- Ian’s left ventricle didn’t form, but through 4 open heart surgeries as a baby and toddler, he is now stable and thriving!
