Support Our School
The Persian Cultural Center Inc., also known as the Iranian Community School, was established in 1986 by the late Mrs. Deyhimi. For over 30 years, with her tireless efforts and love of our heritage and community, she helped to preserve the Persian language and art in the Washington, DC area. We are proud that we have been able to keep the school’s doors open after her passing over three years ago.
We continue to offer Persian language and art classes with the help of our dedicated team of teachers and educators. However, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to close the school and curtail our activities significantly. We have strived to create fulfilling remote learning for our students. We are currently offering fully virtual classes, and we are so grateful that we have been able to make this transition as swiftly and smoothly as possible. We are currently operating with 80 students learning virtually and 11 teachers from Kindergarten through 8th grade. We could not have done this without the commitment and support of students who continued to learn with us.
With that said, we have lost the opportunity to host our annual events and fundraising opportunities to continue covering our many expenses to keep the school running. We humbly ask that if you are able to make a tax-deductible donation please do so, in order to help us continue upholding our cultural and educational enrichment for many years to come in the Washington area. We hope that with your help and support we will be able to withstand the difficulties of the pandemic until we are able to return to regular in-person classes and events. Thank you for your consideration. Your support, and our mission to ensure the continuity of our beautiful language, means the world to us.
