Did you know that Canada has private sponsorship? This means that any organization can privately sponsor a family to Canada. I have connected with an organization in Ottawa who are ready to accept this family! As many of you know, we have already helped resettle one family to Canada - Salam and Tamara. They arrived in Canada on October 8th, 2021!

We are now trying to help resettle Tamara's family - her father, mother, brother, and sister-in-law. We are hoping to get this family reunited in Canada!

100% of the money raised will go to this sponsorship, allowing them to leave Jordan and start a new life in Canada. This will help set them up for their first-year expenses, allowing them the time and space to get resettled into the community!

As you may know, the media has done very little to report on the ongoing conflict in Iraq, which has resulted in more than 3 million people fleeing for their lives. Many of these families are taking refuge in Jordan as they seek asylum in a safe country.

This family, Farooq, Taghreed, Jamal and Rita, fled from Iraq in 2014 and have been in Jordan ever since. They are not allowed to work or go to school in Jordan. Their lives are on pause and there is no future for them. If you would like to know more about the story, please contact me here! I cannot share their story here due to security reasons.

Many of us are frustrated about this situation and are forced to look for other alternatives to help our displaced friends. It takes years for refugees to get accepted in America, so that is not an option. That's why I am asking for you to join me to help this family start a new life in Canada!

This GoFundMe campaign will be sent to an org in Canada. The nonprofit needs the first-year expenses for this family to be raised before the Canadian government will allow them to resettle.

The amount for this family is 65,000 USD. We already have generous donors who have donated 50,000 USD. THAT MEANS WE ONLY HAVE $15,000 USD LEFT!!! 100% of the money raised will go to this sponsorship, allowing them to leave Jordan and start a new life in Canada. This will help set them up for their first-year expenses, allowing them the time and space to get resettled into the community!

Many of these are wonderful, safe, friendly people who are taking refuge in Jordan as they seek asylum in a safe country. And sadly, America is accepting only a tiny number refugees for resettlement.

Many of us are terribly frustrated about this situation, and are forced to look for other alternatives to help our displaced friends. That's why I am asking for you to join me to help a dear Iraqi refugee family start a new life in Canada!

Thankfully, Canada still allows private sponsorship for resettlement of refugee families. The family that this GoFundMe campaign will help has been accepted for sponsorship by an organization in Ottawa. The church needs the first year expenses for this family to be raised before the Canadian government will allow them to emigrate. That amount for this family of four is $40,000 (US dollars), we already have $10,000 fundraised. 100% of the money raised will go to this sponsorship, allowing them to leave Jordan and start a new life in Canada.

They are currently in Jordan, where they have been waiting for more than three years for a country to accept them. They cannot stay in Jordan. Laws prohibit them from working and their kids are not able to go to public school. There is no future for them here, and they cannot safely return to Iraq.
