Maetreum of Cybele, Magna Mater Inc.

Hi, I'm Cathryn Platine and with three other women of trans history we bought Central House in 2002 to provide a place for trans women to safely bootstrap themselves after transition. In 2005 we deeded the property to the Maetreum of Cybele, an incorporated and 501c3 religious organization. Over the years we provided housing for more than 40 women, trans and non trans, in need. The pandemic hit us hard and we need help to maintain the property so as to be able to provide safe housing and sanctuary for trans women and their spouses in this time of political danger for them. We have rooms ready but need help upgrading and repairing our building, roofs, etc. Our building is a former Catskill resort inn and is 150 years old. Since 2015 we have also served our community with a low powered FM radio station.
